This is an interpretation of an excerpt from the children's story 'Do Not Open This Book' by Andy Lee. I wanted to portray a typically mean or vicious character -- a red, fiery dragon -- being a "crybaby."
This piece was completed in Adobe Photoshop using the paintbrush tool and various brushes and colors. I drew inspiration from your typical red, fiery dragon -- however; this dragon is a philosophy-studying bookworm. The contrasting elements of a typical dragon and the serenity of his "reading" nook make for a perfect combination to fit the playful story Andy Lee presents.
